US Highway 165 Oberlin
Driver distraction at the intersection of Louisiana Highway 26 and US Highway 165 in Oberlin is the culprit of many serious motor vehicle collisions. Traffic control signals to access the intersection has little affect on distracted drivers. recently the law firm of Jones & Hill have successfully completed several collision cases at this intersection. The main cause of the crashes are distracted drivers. Many area structures, including railroad structures vie for drivers attention causing distraction. Jones & Hill has a complete investigative mock up of this intersection to use in future crashes at this intersection. Traditionally, law enforcement from Oberlin Police Department report, Allen Parish Sheriff’s Office or the Louisiana State Police will investigate the crash at this intersection. Attorney Craig Ray Hill of the law form of Jones & Hill is routinely working with these investigative agencies.
Still the main cause of crashes at this intersection seems to be distraction from cell phone use; ie. texting. Texting combined with heavy traffic is a deadly combination.
